Michael R. Herr
Vice President, Corporate Environmental Affairs United Parcel Service
Mike Herr is Corporate Environmental Affairs Vice President for UPS as well as chairman of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. Mr. Herr is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance to environmental laws and regulations and leads the company's efforts to fulfill its own aggressive environmental policy.
As co-chair of UPS's Corporate Sustainability Report Committee, Mr. Herr advises the company's departments and functions in their efforts to create and maintain a sustainable enterprise through responsible commerce and community initiatives. In addition, this committee is responsible for creating transparent reporting initiatives on sustainable practices for the company's primary stakeholders. Mr. Herr also manages training programs, field support and information systems for plant engineering staff nationwide, and oversees UPS's construction and building standards. He has been with UPS for 20 years.
Mr. Herr received his civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri and has been a registered professional engineer for 27 years. His commitment to sustainable development also extends to his civic leadership duties. He serves on the board of the Clean Air Campaign, a not-for-profit organization that works to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in Metro Atlanta.
