Jim Marriott
Acting Director General, Security and Emergency PreparednessTransport Canada
Mr. Jim Marriott is the Acting Director General, Security and Emergency Preparedness, Transport Canada where he is responsible for the development of Canada's national transportation security program. With over 18 years of transportation security experience, he has played a leading role in shaping Canada's transportation security policy, legislation, regulations and programs, including international coordination, since the Air India bombing in 1985.
As an internationally recognized expert in aviation security, he has been the Chair of the International Civil AviationOrganization Aviation Security Panel on four occasions, is a member of the European Civil Aviation Conference Security Working Group, a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Transportation Security Initiative, and has authored a number of articles on aviation security. He has a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
